Others From the West Guard Tower on Alcatraz! Where else?! Great Highway at ocean beach. October is best. Any place facing the west with a view of the water with someone you're close to. Near the Cliff House at Ocean beach where you can see the entire Ocean and the California shoreline all while being able to walk along the beach and/or have a bonfire with your friends. The wharf at the end of Van Ness Ave (near Ghiradeli Square) is also a great spot, where you can see the sunset RIGHT near the Golden Gate bridge, and if you turn your head 45-60 degrees you can see the views of the bay bridge and downtown SF (this is my personal favorite spot) Hope this helps - I love this city. the Cliff House!
