Best places to stay in Carmel, CA? |
Travel Info going to drive down from San Fransisco and would love to know some good places to stay on the way down to San diego! Travel Tips Tickle Pink is great as is The Highlands. The Carmel Mission Inn is a nice stay at a good price. The concierge, Eric is most helpful. Hope you have a great vacation. Play some golf at Pebble Beach. Others Irish Eyes, what are you smoking? The Tickle Pink has a great location (located in Pacific Grove, FYI), but is really nothing better than an old Motel 6. You pay top dollar for an old musty motel room. No pool, which is a bummer if you have kids. In Carmel, I've stayed at the BW Townhouse Lodge, on 5th & San Carlos. Small parking lot, but we got the suite at the bottom of the stairs, right next to the pool. This was very handy for us, as we could watch the kids swim whilst sitting inside the room. However, watch out. Their cancellation policy is excessively long. We tried to cancel because our plans changed, and you forfeit a night's stay with less than 10 days notice, which is pretty outlandish. However, we were pleasantly surprised at the roominess of the room. In Monterey, we have stayed at the BW Monterey Inn, which also had large rooms. It's right by a Denny's, and a couple blocks from Dennis the Menace Playground at Estelli Park, if you have kids. Like the BW Townhouse, it has a small, heated pool, but the size didn't bother our kids at all. Victorian Inn, just off Cannery Row, has a great location, but no pool. It's also rather pricey, but the location is Excellent. You are within a couple blocks of the Aquarium, Cannery Row, and the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company. |
