La Canada/Flintridge is pretty nice and quiet.. home prices are not as steep as the neighboring cities (Burbank/Glendale) in some areas. It's relatively safe, considering this is LA, and is close to various shops and restaurants. It's not a super populated and crowded city. If you're familiar with Glendale, it's kind of like Glendale, but with way less people and less stores, crowds, etc. It's near the mountains (or actually partially on the mountains, I believe), and is a fine place to live. I believe it's actually part of Glendale, also. There's a community college near by (Glendale C.C.), and things to do, yes, but it's not the most lively place on earth. Within about 15-20 minutes, though, you can find LOTS of things to do so.. nice place overall. Source(s): Long time Glendale/Burbank resident.
Other Travel Tips

A relatively upscale area located in the foothills above the Los Angeles Basin above Glendale, California. It is almost entirely White upper class, beautiful homes, views and easy access to the #2 and #210 Freeways.

Flintridge is the more exclusive of the two.
I live near La Canada Flintridge. Most all very rich people live there. It is very quiet and safe place to live. Many houses are very beautiful near mountains. I used to live in Montrose of North La Canada. I enjoyed to have nice times to eat restaurants in Montrose.
It is a really nice hillside community above Glendale.
Very upscale.

Million dollar ticky tacky tract homes nestled in the foothills.

A lot of people who work at JPL live around there.

BTW, it's pronounced can-YA-dah. Not CAN-ah-dah. Tilde's over the "n" are pronounced likes "Y" in Espanol.
