Can anyone tell me about Ventura, CA? |
Travel Info I applied for a job out there... and i was wondering how the area is. Is it safe? Clean? Expensive? Weather? I'm 21 and from Ohio... never been more west than Minnesota, so i have NO idea. haha. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, thanks. Travel Tips I work in Ventura. My work takes me all over the Ventura County Area. Ventura is beautiful! It reminds me of the old metro-LA area of the sixties and early seventies. It is a primarily an agricultural area with it being the highest produces of strawberries and lemons in the country. It has two community colleges, one university. The demographic of Los Angeles, appears to be a little more educated and diverse. (Ventura County residents please do not be offended here, I am just a reporter.) Ojai is very unique in that it has an artistic and new age flavor. I enjoy what Los angeles has to offer at the same time, enjoy the laid back environmrnt of Ventura county. Tht is why I do not live inVentura but on the border of LA and Ventura. Others Ventura is very nice. i have been there myself a few times. it is a safe clean place. the weather is pretty nice. and the beaches are great for surfing. there is alot of stuff to do over there and its not too expensive. here is the citys website check it out http://www.cityofventura.net/index.asp... also check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ventura,_ca... It looks pretty good in my opinion.. it's great for surfing if you like to do that. for more info, check out this site http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ventura,_ca... It's no Ohio, that's for sure, but as far as Socal towns go, Ventura is great. It's affordable, given its proximity to the beach. The weather is what most would consider perfect. The summers are warm enough to enjoy the beaches and countless outdoor activities, yet the ocean breeze keeps it cool in the evenings, unlike the valley. The low in winter is probably close to 60/50. There are several colleges relatively close also, and I know there are many people your age around the area. Maybe you could google the local newspapers or read postings from their local Craigslist.com. community? Ventura is incredibly beautiful; located between Channel Islands and Santa Barbara, yet far enough from cental LA to be safe, depending on neighborhood. Good luck, whatever you decide. 21 is a beautiful age. Stay strong and smart, and watch out for those who wish to take advantage of your youth and inexperience. Yeah, cliche, but seriously. Always keep your family/those you trust near to you and have a back up plan. Family there. e mail me. i've been here 40 of my 40 years and i can tell you all you need to know. great place and did that gal above me forget to mention moorpark college? that's vta, too. Ventura is very safe as long as you don't live in the ghetto but I doubt you will. The weather is very nice its usually between the 70's and 80's. It's clean you dont really see alot of trash around. Its pretty expensive but not TOO much its resonible. Ventura has alot of beautiful spanish houses and alot of tract houses. The people here are very nice well I dont know all of them but when I moved here everyone was kind. It is a GREAT place to live. If you have any questions just email me, my email is on my profile. I hoped I helped. |
