Where shall we park a car in Santa Monica on Saturday? |
Travel Info We are visiting LA in a few weeks and are planning to go to Santa Monica beach on Saturday morning. I hear that it would be almost impossible to park a car on Saturday morning when the Farmer's Market is held. Where do people in LA park? Or do they park far away and use a bus or taxi to get to the beach? Travel Tips Huh? The Saturday Farmer's Market is NOT at the beach. Your only problem will be crowds in general, so get there early. It's a holiday weekend, and the lots will fill up early. Do NOT park in the McDonald's lot on Colorado. The parking Nazis patrol that with a vengeance. You WILL be towed before you even get set up on the sand. There are two main lots: On the pier, and north of the pier. To park on the pier, take 10 west and exit 4th/5th St. Follow the signs to either, then left on Colorado. Go straight on to the pier. To park north of the pier, you can continue on the 10 until it turns into PCH. You will need to make a U-turn at the first signal, then stay to the right and enter the lot just north of the pier. Others when we go to santa monica beach we park in a lot. they cost about 5-10 dollars. its easy to get parking there and you dont have to worry about your car. this site tells you of a few http://parking.santa-monica.org/det_beac... park in the mc donalds across from the pier. don't get busted There are many public parking lot in Santa Monica, some right on the beach and some a little further away. They tend to be a bit pricey, but you can't really park on the street near the beach, most of it is permit parking only for residents. You can park in the lot for the mall or any of the ones near the 3rd street promenade and walk down the the beach, it's only a couple of blocks and some of them have certain hours when parking is free during the day. |
