When you come to LA to became a star or hit the big time, could you please come with a career plan? |
Travel Info Have you seen the street people on Hollywood blvd lately? I have noticed an increase in YA questions wanting advice about how they can make it here by being a star. If there weren't so many pimps and "girls" on the streeet I would thing it is funny. Can you all please be careful? Travel Tips I will always remember the "stand- up" friend of the family, that was always asking for money, rides to auditions and other favors so we could support her talent. Finally, she got a day job so a least she could pay her way. The arrogance of these so called talented people is amazing. Others My father use to go to Hollywood a lot because of his job and he said it is a dump because of all of the homeless there who wanted to be actors, this was back in the 70's guess things never change That's tragic. I wonder if there are homeless stock brokers on Wall Street in New York City looking for work? Thnak you! People think it's an overnight thing... How do you think all of theose restaurants get waiters & waitresses? Amen "Cope". I think some of the problem is caused by MTV, and "reality" shows like "American Idol" that hold open casting calls. These programs make it look so easy for a "no body" to become famous. So many would be actors / actresses don't realize that the instant they get off the bus there are "users and abusers" just waiting to prey upon them. Nor do they realize just how very expensive it is to live here. Those that are a little more mature fail to understand that there are hundreds of out-of-work professional actors / actresses who vie for every acting job, and the competition is extremely fierce. It's a difficult profession to be in if it's your only means of earning a living. A good example would be a recent "question" by a teen-age girl from Kansas using the name "Paris Hilton", and was coming here to become a star? (snicker, snicker) What??? Get off the bus, become a star IS my career plan...The rest is just details......More later, G2G I think I see my bus coming...(See the first part of the plan is already working...) LOL so true. Lots of people are like "I wanna be a star! I'm going to LA!" then they get there are realize they're just one of a million wanting the same thing. Hopefully, those people will choose a better career. |
