Pantang larang orang cina? |
Travel Info Pantang larang orang cina? Travel Tips Boss, feng shui is not our pantang larang. It is part of an ancient Chinese philosophy of nature. It is concerned with understanding the relationships between nature and ourselves so that we might live in harmony within our environment. Chinese has too many pantang-larangs....especially during special 'occasions' like after giving birth, during the Ghost Festival, when in temples, during a wedding, during bereavement, during Chinese New Year and etc etc....Some of the pantang larang that I can remember: -a woman must not wash her hair after giving birth -if a family just had a woman giving birth, that family is advised not to visit other friends or relatives -last time, it was not advisable to bathe at night as the elders said it would be easier to contract rheumatism -if a male wishes to 'relieve' himself and there is no public toilet available, he can relieve by the roadside BUT he must ask for pardon and forgiveness first -when it is the month of the Hungry Ghost, one is encouraged not to go out too often and if someone calls your name at night, make sure you have seen the 'caller' before replying or else.... -do not speak anything about ghosts at night time -a couple who is about to get marry must not see each other on the eve of the wedding -during a nuptials, the groom must stand on the left while the bride on the right -the newlywed must have a new mattress and preferably a toddler boy is encourage to jump on it. However a girl must never never sit on a newlywed's new bed. -must not break anything during a nuptials -must not talk crap or nonsense in a temple -if a younger one dies before his/her parents, the parents must not attend the funeral no matter how hard it is -must not talk crap or nonsense during a funeral -must only wear new and bright dress during CNY. Stricly no black or white -no sweeping of floor on the first day of CNY. On normal days, sweeping is from the outside to the inside. -do not comb your hair in front of a mirror at midnight -never give a 'clock' as a present or a 'book' to a gambler These are some that I can remember now....I will add in from time to time if I can recall more. Others Feng Shui is the pantang larang -do not put yr chopstick in your rice bowl vertically -no watch giving Just to add a few. When go jungle / mountain - should not call ur partner by nama. When lady "good friend" come - should not go to temple. Family/friend wt celebration of happyness should not visit those wt sad ceremony & vice versa. i.e. those wt weddding vs those wt funeral. U r not suppose to sweep floor or hang ur clothes under the open air during the 1st day of CNY. Never wear bright colour to a funeral, especially RED. avoid hammer work or renovation for ur house if u got pregnant lady at home. When attending funeral at the grave yard, never look back when u leave. When bring ur new born baby home fr hospital, u should call him/her when leaving or entering any door. Yvonne has the best answer... As for me, I guess I go with her answers. There's too many to list. In fact, they're almost the same as those of the Malays except for some differences in some others due to cultural origins. must give angpow to the children? am i right or not.. just too many of them, also depend of chinese direct. i dont follow them. the world change & we have to change too. i m suprise yvonne can remember those pantang larang because i dont hehe... she got a very good answer. ------------------------------... the only think that i dont pantang is to received "ang pow" hehe...$$$$$$$$$$$$$ |
