LCCT & KLIA are actually together? |
Travel Info Even though there are 2 different ways to KLIA and LCCT, but many argue that these 2 terminals are actually just next to each other. Is this true? Travel Tips All the mentioned on the above are true. i agree it does made a "confusion" when the LCCT launched.. even among the malaysian, i just want to share this with all the peoples in or out of Malaysia. KLIA (Kuala Lumpur Int Airport) is recognise as the "main gate" enter to m'sia, once arrived at KLIA tourists shall be able to "connect" to any domestic places via different transportations "conveniently". then we shall now understand why the Low Cost Terminal is located at Sepang and not Subang. The KLIA is an airport, the LCCT (Low Cost Carrier Terminal) is just one of the terminal "inside" KLIA, after the 1) Main Terminal (domestic & international transfer) 2) Satellite Terminal (international) 3) & of course the Cargo 'Terminal' KLIA and so all the terminals are own by Msia Airport Bhd, they rent the facilities to all the airlines. MAS is the main tenant of Main & Satellite Terminal, with all the "luxuries" environment and Airasia is the main tenant of LCCT, which only offer the basic & economical facilities. so, MAS, Airasia & others airlines (shouldn't be terminal) are "using" the same runway of KLIA. Since the main terminal & LCCT is so close but yet is so far away? because they need to reserve area for future expansion of each terminal, just like what they are expanding the LCCT now. So, i hope with this explanation, peoples will have a clearer scope of the LCCT & KLIA. Personally i felt the LCCT ws built in a rushed, a few things are not well planned. Just like the connections between the Main terminal to LCCT, i hope something like the aerotrain between Main & Satellite terminal should connect to LCCT. beside that, they should improve the transportation service between KL city & LCCT, hopefully the proposal of ERL extend to LCCT will came true. Cheers :> Others Yes, the two terminals are almost near one another. The only difference is that passengers disembarking/ embarking at KLIA have lots of facilities such as aerobridges and trains etc. Those coming or going via the LCCT have to walk to the aircraft or the airport. The LCCT is not as glitzy as KLIA. travel writer/ been there both of them share the same runway and next to each other. the only difference is the departure & arrival hall is saperated from the main terminal.LCCT & KLIA is at the same place. Yes it is next to each other. They share the same runway just like cargo planes. Try flying Airasia, then u'll see the different terminal and how close it is. Just as with the rest above, LCCT is actually on the same grounds as KLIA and the terminals nearby. The LCCT terminal was originally on cargo depot grounds and later transformed to suit low cost carrier passengers. Hope this helps and good luck! Yes, LCCT is at the other end of the KLIA run way. Both are sharing the same run way. Both are actually next to each other. |
