Travel Tips
KL is a shopping haven, go to Bukit Bintang and I'm sure you'll be very happy. Just a warning, it's near impossible to find parking there, and taxis are expensive. A cheaper alternative is to go to Pasar Seni/Petaling Street, where you can find cheap trinkets and counterfeit products if that's your thing. Pasar Seni is also an art hub of sorts. Both places can be reached through KL Sentral.

The weather here is unpredictable at best, but on any given day there's a 50% chance of rain. If you plan to visit, say, a garden or open-air market check CNN.

The good news is that Malaysia is a Muslim country, so there is a lot of food which is halal. It is perhaps a good idea to check though, especially Chinese restaurants, because while more established outlets like hotels are halal there is a lot of Chinese food which is not. Look for a green halal sign, or just ask. Source(s): http://malaysia.travel/consumer/destinat...
Other Travel Tips
bukit bintang/klcc and mid valley would be nice for branded and window shopping, menwhile for traditional or cultural based product, 'central market' is the nice place to go, try 'petaling street','jalan masjid india' or 'kl sentral parking lot' to have more choices. it is a dry season in Malaysia(july) but better prepare for the rain for there is a hot and rain throughout the year in Malaysia. typical Malay/mamak restaurant will cost you about rm 25-40 per day or maybe less(depends on what you eat). halal food is everywhere to be found here so dont have to worry. for your convenient, better to stay nearby the public transportation stop (LRT, Monorail) to get easy acces to the downtown.
