A durian question?

Is it safe to consume durians with Red Bull or alcohol-based beverages?

Kindly tell me from your personal experiences if its 'okay' to consume them in such a way. I've heard of many 'food poisoning' cases but have yet to find any truth to those claims so far as they were isolated cases and it happened mostly in foreign lands far away...

What do you think? Is it a myth or its for real?

I only know of an uncle of mine who consumed durians after a couple of drinks (hard liquor) and he had breathing difficulty after that. It's hard to prove that it's related, though.
My Dad, who loves both, says it's OK to eat durians after beers; in small amount. Please don't take his word for it. He's biased.
However, there's one drink you ought to give a try, if you have not already. Durian in your coffee!

First of all, I cant believe you would eat Durian! It smells like...well, if you eat it, you know what it tastes like.

I think a lot of the hoopla about food and alcohol or energy drinks is crazy! Dont drink energy drinks, first of all. Just have a cup of coffee. Why do you need all that other crap???

I wouldnt think of eating a freaky, custardy fruit on a drinking night, Id be on french fries, nachos or something like that.

I heard something about diet coke and alcohol getting you more of a buzz, than regular soft drinks.
That's a myth. Believe me. I'm from the Davao Area and we grow various durian varieties. Durian is very rich in nutrients, so I suggest not to overdose yourself (not really), that if you can stand the smell. "Smells like s*&t, but taste like heaven".You'll get food poisoning if you don't wash you hands before you eat, and that's everybody worldwide.
Other than that, durian is one of most expensive fruit in the world, reserved only for the King and Queens.
I once had 'Durian Cendol' after a night of drinking. Had some breathing difficulty & felt so hot, kept me up for hours.
Totally unsafe to consume alcohol after durian. Unless you plan to drop dead the next day.
For me, i like to eat durian. It delicious.
But i don't think so it okay to eat durian with red bull or alcohol.
