Lina Joy loses appeal? |
Travel Info Read this - http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?fil... now read this http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?fil... my verdict - this is sick and barbaric. well, she still WON, because NO ONE can cut her heart out and change it.! She's will always be a Christian. Travel Tips Orchid, I so wish to say 'something' here, but I would have prefer to send a private message to you instead (but you don't have that feature enabled in your profile). You know, I want to say that you are right and wholeheartedly, I agree with you even though I am a Buddhist and I don't say this out of ignorance or based on emotional charge as some people do. Lina got guts and she fought for her rights at her very best (for her level). This is indeed sick and barbaric, but its Malaysia. What can we say or do... there's nothing much to be done/said anyway since our opinions don't count into the majority and like some people had mentioned before, Malaysia is truly Malaysian. As Malaysia advances into the future, I'm sad to say that there will be more sickening and barbaric cases to lead its civilization backwards in terms of morality and justice. Some things works abroad but some things won't, even for a hundred years... in Malaysia. All I can say is that Lina deserves my respect regardless of what criticism she receives as this is her rights as a HUMAN, not as a Malaysian or a Melayu or even as a MUSLIM (this is so hypocritical when some Muslims tell me that they are not suppose to FORCE another non-believer into their religious ideals, and the politicization of Islam in Malaysia is evident here). This is the fundamental right each and every human being deserve to practice and it is not up to the law to decide for 'us' who and what we should become ---that is discrimination at state level, and the Malaysian government have proven it once again. By the way, are you aware about the Malay/Malaysian version of the Holy Bible that is being banned in Malaysia? What do you have to say about that? Religious tolerance? Religious freedom? Don't mind the insults. Carry on with your questions/answers and be truthful, as the words of TRUTH prevails all. Source(s): Lina if you're reading this by chance, its straight from my heart :-) TheBear wishes you joy, luck, abundance of blessings and more! Other Travel Tips I am glad she LOST the case! Does it mean her personal interest which conflict with the Malaysian law should be allowed and more important? If she thinks she could fight the Constitutional law/ Syariah law especially in Malaysia- the country predominantly Muslims, she is one stupid person and she is just wasting her time! Reason, everybody should follow the law in Malaysia whether you like it or not. Or else go to UK or US be an asylum seeker! Simple. I'm not surprised really. Can u imagine what would happen if the decision went her way? Just think of the implications.... 3 judges & 1 dissented. Who is that judge who dissented? At 26 yo she decided to covert to Christianity fair enough! but youngsters majority learn and adapt at a very young age, even though they haven't developed any comparisons or decision making abilities. What does she know, huh? She's one brave lady and deserves all the well wishes and prayers she can get. You can't fault her for not standing up for what she believes in and you're right - no human court decision to strike out her appeal will change her belief one bit. I guess at the back of all our minds, we Malaysians knew that this result would be inevitable. We need to respect the law decision & the verdict. The verdict & law already spoken. Why u create such havoc anymore.. The thing is what's in your heath (what u embrace) not the law.. she should just shut up & practice what she believes regardless of what her I.C religion status is.. Afterall by remaining the Azlina name (malay name) she's still entitle for Bumi's right.. (if there's any-lah) |
