Best way to Besut, Terengganu from Wangsa Maju, KL? |
Travel Info can you tell me which way is the best to Besut, Terengganu ? I'm from Wangsa Maju, KL (self-drive) Travel Tips you are lucky to be in Wangsa Maju because you just have to use MRR2 n get to Karak Highway then all the way going to Kuantan [ assuming you are using the east coast highway ]. From Karak Highway after the Bentong's toll, about 10 minutes later, take note of the junction entering the East Coast Highway, there are three junction ahead of you, if i am not mistaken, follow the outter most [ the left one is going to Sungai Dua, centre junction going to Karak Town ] junction that will lead to ECH. From here all the way to Kuantan cost you rm19.60. After paying the toll, look for the Kuala Terengganu sign n it would lead you to Besut, which is about 8 to 9 hours journey ! i have the feeling that you are actually wanted to reach Kuala Besut, catch you boat ride to Perhentian/ Lang Tengah Island ? if you are heading toward Redang Island then it should be at Merang [not Marang, Marang is for those who are going to Kapas Island] since its a long long tiring driving journey, please plan you trip carefully, as you may enjoy that drive if you know what others interesting places to stop/rest on your way to Besut. you might wanted to stop at Kuantan [ Teluk Cempedak, Beserah or Balok beach ], Cherating for it beautiful beach, turtle hatchery [ the same junction leading to Club Med ] where you can witness new born turtles n deer farm. then stop at Kemanan for the wonderful coffee at the kopitiam, kelopok lekor too. By now you are cruising through the coastal road which provide one of the most beautiful drive you ever experience before ! pull over to take some photos if you wanted to ! you may wanted to try your luck n stay one night at Rantau Abang to witness the turtle landing ! don't forget the Pasar Payang at Kuala Terengganu to shop til you drop ! then finally, Besut or Kuala Besut ! Have a nice holiday ! Others use the MRR2 to the direction to kuantan/ genting highland. from there use the east coast highway to terrenganu. just follow the sign board. when u nearly reach kuantan, dont follow pusat bandar or kuantan sign...follow kuala terengganu sign...u'll save bout 30 mins (or an hour during peak time) by stucking at the traffic jamed n traffic light... North South Highway... all the way. Hi, in Wangsa Maju it's easy to drive using the MRR2 highway to East Coast highway via the Karak highway. Once you're in the East Coast expressway enjoy the scenery of the greens...then when reaching Kuantan, it's best to come out from Gambang toll, the ride should takes about 2 hr 30 min. When you're in Jalan Gambang lookout for the Semambu highway to turn on your left to K.Terengganu. This is the way to bypass Kuantan town. It is a 20km long stretch road to connect to Gebeng industrial town where you're on the Federal route no.1 to Terengganu. Just follow the sign to K.Terengganu and you'll see the Setiu sign not faraway....the town is located at border of Kelantan and T'ganu probably should take about 4 hrs drive from Kuantan..
