Why we love Malaysia? |
Travel Info Why we love Malaysia? Travel Tips You kidding me? Why we don't love Malaysia? Malaysia is surprisingly beautiful. We have beautiful crystal clear island and one of the top diving sites (Sipadan) in the world! We have the biggest cave (World Heritage Sites) in the world that can accommodate few of Boeing 747.The Deer Cave is named after the deer which frequented the cave and which native hunters pursued. It is large enough to hold London's St. Paul's Cathedral five times over and is believed to be the largest cave passage known to man. Malaysia has the tallest twin tower in the world (KLCC) and incorporate the garden and the modernization. We also have the highest and the longest canopy walk in the world in more than 100 million years old of the tropical rain forest (Taman Negara). Not to mention the highest peak in Southeast Asia where you can witness the largest flora in the world, rafflesia. A part of that, Kuala Lumpur has the one of the modern and efficient public transportation in the world integrated the buses, different types of train, taxis and the best airport in the world, KLIA. Our Malaysia Airlines won the "Best Cabin Crew" Awards for few times. Our currency (Ringgit) is getting so much stronger value than US Dollar currency that makes me investing more in Malaysia than in America. We have the International F1 Circuit where Micheal Schumacher comes every year to grab his glory! Our national car is so economical and practical. We do not have to depend on other country to take advantage of our development. My husband (American) always said that Malaysian education system is one of the best in the world. Malaysians people really work hard to get their way to the better university unlike using money for everything. Apart of the superb modernization, we preserve the forest and the greens like Taman Negara and Sabah/Sarawak. Let the proboscis monkey share this world with us while we breathing a nice clean air. My husband loves Cameron Highland because of the elavation makes the climate colder. The green tea plantations and hiking trails in Cameron Highland is awesome. I called my husband as kelip2 (fireflies) because he loves the fireflies river trip at the Kuala Selangor. Malacca and Penang has old architechture and heritage that so charming for a romantic gateway. But, the most beautiful thing in Malaysia and I am really missing it is our culture, belief, colours of Malaysia and the amazing food. I am Malay and I have close friends that is Chinese Buddhist, Indian Hindu and Chinese Christian. But, our favourite thing to do is to get drunk with "the tarik" (Malaysian drink and there is no alcohol in it, :)) at 4 o'clock in the morning and have nasi lemak or roti canai at Sri Hartamas or Mont Kiara. We would ***** about everything from work issues, celebrity gossips to fashion checklist. We have different color of skin, race and religion but we are so close like sisters and that is the beautiful thing about Malaysia. We love our "Manglish version" (Malay language and English) and we are so proud that Malaysia is really truly Asia. We love shopping too! In Kuala Lumpur (KL), we have fashion label from everywhere. UK, French,American, Italian, Japanese and those small cute boutiques individually own by these creative interpreneur who will make their name in the fashion world someday. We have the largest Shopping Mall in Asia and one of my favorite place in KL is the cyber mall, where the whole mall is dedicated for the computer geek or high tech gadget. Can you imagine that one of the floor in that shopping mall is only selling different brands/style/quality of computer monitor? I love KL!! We love concert too! We went to cool concert such as Linkin Park!!!! We celebrate all celebration from Hari Raya to Deepavali (Indian) to Moon cake Festival (Chinese). My ex boss (Malay) would get the "Yee sang (Chinese food for the good luck celebration" every year and we exchange gift on Christmas. when it comes to food, there is no other places can be compared to Malaysian food. Since we have obvious different races and 13 states with every states has it on specialities, the Malaysian food is so diversify and yummy! But, be careful, some of them are so spicy. So, why don't I love Malaysia? I have been living in US for quite some time but I won't trade my Malaysian citizenship for anything. I am so proud of Malaysia and there is nothing like home, Malaysia. Lynne Others Proton is a Malaysian car company, it owns Lotus of the UK (which is the greatest maker of sports cars in history!) Technologically advanced compared to Zimbabwe. There's nothing to love about MY. It's hot, humid, stuffy, mousey people with sneaky attitudes, and arrogant Bumi putras. No one truly loves it there. Move to Seattle. the harmony between races is quite good. cost of living is not high, lots of tourist attraction, affordable to travel and lots of thing to eat. Inexpensive prostitutes. Or so at least I have been TOLD...... Why?? Nasi bungkus, nasi kandar mamak, mee curry, mee bandong, tom yam, roti canai, teh tarik. nasi briyani, roti john, yong tau foo, ayam percik, roti sardin, ayam tandoori & roti naan. ( our food taste better!) pasar malam, night market, pirated dvd, non-ori handbag, bla bla bla bla bla bla... |
