Travel Tips
Hi, in Johore you can visit the waterfalls in Kota Tinggi...drive along that highway and you'll reached Desaru beach resort. If you're into diving or snorkelling go and visit islands like Pulau Tioman, Sibu, Rawa, Tinggi etc...
If fishing or seafood is your cup of tea, go to the west side of Johore where you'll find find Pulau Kukup to your liking.
By the way, Puteri Gunung Ledang the hill camp resort is out of bound for visitors temporary.
If you don't mind going further to M'cca, most S'poreans love to visit to that historical state for food, souvenirs and a theme park in A' Famosa.
By the way if you're into adventure and fun but with a group you should stay in Somerset Hotel and resort for a few days where they have various outdoor activities to enjoy...

Then go to Malacca. Quite a good place to visit.
Hi there ...

Not as far as KL and Penang will leave you with little choices.

If you are for "water", maybe Pulau Sibu (or those around the area), Desaru might fit your needs. Although I think 1 week in either places will be too much.

How about Taman Negara then? With about 4days - 1week, you will have more than sufficient time to see everything.

If not, Fraser hill might be a decent place too. Lesser known than genting / cameron highlands, but it is a very nice place for a short stay (2-3 days!).

If you want, you might be able to combine Fraser Hill with Taman Negara too.

Enjoy yourself in Malaysia!
ok...on the way to kl stop by at muar...make sure you try "mee bandung muar"...from highway take pagoh exit....

continue your journey....stop at melaka..exit air keroh,go to taman mini malaysia...it features impressive replicas of the different types of traditional houses from the thirteen states of Malaysia as well as the typical abodes of the ASEAN countries..

next....A famosa or "The Famous" in Portuguese, is among the oldest surviving European architectural remains in Asia.

drop by at nilai 3....you going crazy for shopping here...

if you willing to go up north, go to pangkor island....

on the way back to singapore, go to either tioman island or rawa island.....a very nice place.....
Try Kuching, Sarawak ,East Malaysia on the Borneo Island for a change. It's a peaceful nice place with a population of only 500k,and is also called the Cat City. There are 6 museums in the town centre itself and a cat museum across the river.Shopping is nothing compared with Singapore but the many local shops, handicraft shops,(esp along Gambier St),pottery shops are attractions themselves. The food here are superb and the Chinese kolok mee (the locals call it Kolong mee ) is a must -try here. The three main races here are the Chinese, Ibans and Malays. There are altogether 25 ethnics groups in Sarawak. The languages spoken here are Mandarin,English, and Malay. The commonly spoken dialects are Hokkien ,and Hakka now.If it's July you are coming,do join the Rajnforest Music Festival.I am sure you'll meet some of your folks there. www.rainforestmusic-borneo.com... Pack and go.You won't regret it.
The nearest is Danga Bay,Johor. If you really want to visit the interesting places in Malaysia, I would like to suggest that you plan for a home stay in Negeri Sembilan, the state thet full of history and tradition.

You may ask about the place call Bahau or Batu Kikir, these are for the home stay holidays.
Friend, don't ever hang around JB go further up. Dress as what the local dress and don't show off (they know you are singaporean). Stay alert while enjoy your stay there
