Is it necessary to learn to speak a particular language of a country,to visit? |
Travel Info I am going to malaysia so i am told to learn to speak MALAY & that also in just 90 DAYS.How come this be possible? Travel Tips Hello It is not compulsory to learn Malay language but it will definitely gives locals a smile on their face if you really can. To learn a simple language like Apa Khabar, Selamat Pagi or Sudah Makan belum is pretty simple and you definately can do it in 90 days Welcome to Malaysia Others You don't need to become fluent. But 90 days is plenty to learn enough to ask simple questions, greet people, say thank you, etc. You'll have a better time and the people you meet will really appreciate your efforts. It's always a good idea. Also, it's considered very respectful of you to do so. Malay isn't too different from Indonesian and a few others in that family, and you should be able to find a phrasebook pretty easily. I would say that it is polite.... Not necessarily, but I would make an attempt to be able to speak some of the language as in Yes No Thank You Where is the ............. May I please have Get a book that translates, it will help relations with the people that you are trying, and it could keep you from say YES when you meant NO Well if you ever visit Mexico look me up ill teach some words that will get you by.
