There is no bus service from KL Sentral to Malacca. However there is bus service from Puduraya to Malacca. Puduraya is about 4 Km away from KL sentral. You can take a prepaid cab there. It may cost you under RM10, USD3.5, this service is reliable.

Alternatively, if you like a bit of excitment, try taking a 'komuter' train to Seremban (from KL Sentral), then take a bus to malacca from there. You spend an awful lot of time travleling and its really not worth the time, unless you have lots of friends joining you and you have plenty of time to spare.

Buses from Puduraya to Malacca cost about RM15. Choose a reliable bus operator. Get your tickets from booths inside the bus terminal, not the ones on the road side.
