I love you in malay?

Travel Info
i'm learning some basic Malay, and i'm a tad confused about how i love you is said in Malay. I've seen so many versions: Saya cintakan awak, aku cinta padamu, saya cinta pagamu, aku cinta awak. I've heard saya and aku cannot be used in the same way.

Can someone just tell me which is the most commonly used and grammatically correct 'i love you'?

Travel Tips
I love you, you love me
We're a great big family.
With a great big hug
and a kiss from me to you
Won't you say you love me to! Source(s): Barney the purple dinosaur, TheBear's cousin :-)
Other Travel Tips
The correct way is Saya cinta padamu. Saya is the formal word whereas Aku is informally use in Malaysia. Hope this help.
Personally, I would prefer to just say, "Saya cinta awak".
Some people would say, "I cinta you"....duh!!
-----anyway, I will only say it in English-----
yes, saya and aku cannot be used in the same way because they have the same meaning..

the most commonly used is saya cinta awak, or saya cinta kamu..

saya means i, cinta means love and awak/kamu means you..

its simple like that
There are many ways to translate 'I Love You' in Malay and also depends on some people's accents..examples as the following:

I = Saya/Aku/Kita

Love = Cinta/Cintakan/Sayang/Sayangka...

You = Awak/Kamu/Engkau

Examples :

1.Saya 'Cintakan/Sayangkan' Awak

2. Aku Cintakan/Sayangkan' Kamu OR Aku 'Cinta/Sayang Pada'mu' (in short of 'kamu')

3. Kita 'cintakan/sayangkan' awak

4. Aku 'cintakan/sayangkan' engkau

But anyway, mostly the Malays now prefer to use 'I love you'..it is simple to use, unlike the Malay translation..its need ones courage to really use the words or you will ended up laughing as its kinda weird to really and actually say it to the person we really love....**blushing..gosh! ***
most commonly used and grammatically correct:
- saya sayang awak
- aku cinta padamu
- aku mencintaimu
usually, 'saya' is used with 'awak', while 'aku' is used with 'kamu' or 'mu'. depend on how u usually talk with ur partner. anyhow, u can use whichever sentence that u and the other answerers had listed out. what's important, the message is conveyed.
