I find this strange whenever I tried to categorize a question in Malaysia? |
Travel Info Some of you (some quite irately) have questioned why other Askers categorized their questions in Travel - Malaysia when they should have done so in other categories. Whenever I tried to place my question in its proper category under Malaysia, the ONLY category that was shown (still is) was Travel. So, what's happening? Thanks. Travel Tips Others 1. some people place the question under malaysia because they want answrs from malaysian. some questions might not be understandable to foreigners. 2. if u r viewing malaysia section n u click ask a question, it will automatically categorized under malaysia. u can change if u like. 3. some ppl wanna learn/ ask in malay. the only place is malaysia. Wholeheartedly agree with no money and Myra (except for creating newer sections, though a 'general' section for Malaysia would be appealing though)... as from my personal experience, I've visited the 'Dining' category. ITS DEAD! Personally, I love this section very much despite the things I face from provocative questions and things 'sensitive' being discussed, but honestly, it broadens the perspective of a person (we all need a sort of balance, don't we?). I think we shouldn't be too bothered with 'Travel' solely as most of the cultural/political and other related topics being asked here are truly related to 'Travel' in one way or another (though I HATE this kind of questions but it even include questions about finding a job, etc.)... In the Travel section here, we all have a chance to ask/answer issues ranging from food, politics, 'travels' and other stuff related to the country and there is really a good mix of subjects where you need specifically classify them under other sections (or else, it will just be too boring... like the section on government and politics)... and you know me... I get a little too cranky talking about politics and especially MALAYSIAN politics... heh heh... On the other hand, I believe that this is also a good place for many Malaysians to learn the British or Americanized English (I was brought up to learn the British standard but from the experience of travels and meeting different people, my usage have swayed to the Americanized standard as it allows more room for flexibility and innovation in terms and usage ---and a way to give excuses on typo's and bad spellings, perhaps?). You know what I will usually do when I'm not answering questions? I'd browse around and sometimes have a good laugh at some of our regulars here... Then again, there are just some users who are too 'sensitive' about the category issue... but I think its cool. As long as we all have a place we can call 'home' and enjoy, what's wrong with it? In a family, there are times mum and dad argue, brother and sister fight over small things... but at the end of it all, there's a common bond between us and I think this special section here is for all of us to share, learn and maybe criticize one another from time to time... it makes the experience a whole lot more interactive, don't you think? Travel>Asia Pacific>Malaysia is the FIRST section I visit every day before I move on the R&S section (cos' I tend to spend more time answering long questions and mind boggling stuff which requires me to do some research while answering there, and again... I LOVE IT IN THE R&S TOO!)... I have never made this definition myself, however, I was under the impression that this particular area was about travel and tourism to Malaysia, rather than more internal political issues. I was also under the impression that there was a Malaysian version of Yahoo Answers, in which case questions relating to anything but travel and tourism would be more practically answered. |
