What do you think if VW (Volkswagen ) took over Proton?
Who agree and who disagree? Why

Travel Tips
They always claimed they wanted a 51% controlling stake to protect their investment, which is not unwise if you know the poor quality of a Proton car and the average skills of the people working at that factory. Anything less would be a severe comprimise. "How would you like your VW covered with red tape to keep it together sir?" ;-)

For sure they could do with less people, cut back on overproduction, throw out some old models like the Saga, their mass produced old-timer and available for only RM 27.000 (Malaysian currency). Proton only has sales inside Malaysia and these sales are declining fast. The production process, and therefore the factory should be in German hands if they want to improve the situation at Proton.

Seems to me current management is only interested in know-how, without giving anything in return. I'm sure it will backfire soon if they don't give in. It makes millions loss at the moment. If not for the government it would have been closed a decade ago.

Proton is history, time to let go.

Agree, maybe we will have a better quality cars on market.
I will be more than happy to hear that!!
Which mean our government is open minded ( at lest in this case)!!

I am even more happy if government lower the import tax for automobile to 20%

Can i get thumb up?
lazy to think, is not going to happen, they do this just to increase share price and maintain share holder interest
haha dk i gave u one..

what is national car? National car is a good qualitied car, able to represent citizens of a country, and to let the citizens enjoy lowered price cars.

if VW take over proton, they r able to produce better cars for the citizens to enjoy good and quality car.

VW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
proton? BOOOOOOOO.....
I agree with both hands up. The government had been preaching about the effects of globalization for a long time. Now it's time to implement what you preach. A foreign partner will definitely benefit Proton in business sense. Look at Perodua & their partnership with Toyota. The cars they produce please the eye of anybody who sees them.
It does not matter who take over PROTON.

The most important thing is they have to change their management. Cut all the unnecessary cost & overhead.

The major part is the cost & quality control on purchasing and repair & maintenance.
