Travel Info Can anybody tell me is there really a minor tsunami happen in Penang on 19 June 2007? Travel Tips I live in Penang. No, there's no tsunami, just some really strong wind. When the wind stops, there was broken tree branches, fallen leaves and dustbins at the side of the road. And it has been raining and drizzling for a few days too. Others Who said that lah?? average citizens depends on the news they read from newspaper, radio or tv. so far nobody mentioned anything about tsunami. maybe its only a big wave.. i don thk is tsunami bcos no report of earthquke etc.. it just higher current tide due to unfavourable weather condition Not really. It was strong wind blowing from the sea during a bad weather on that day 19-Jun-07 and happened during high tide, about 3 ~ 4 pm. so sea water overflowing onto roads along the shore, flowing to public drains and going back to the sea again i got some pictures of it from a friend of mine taken at the Esplanede or Padang Kota its not a tsumani, its a tropical storm. it is quite bad hitting penang but a major treat. no lah.there is jus a veri strong big wind blowing .end up there is veri big wave.and the water was veri high.nt earthquakes |
