Batu Ferringhi's Rasa Sayang or Golden Sands? |
Travel Info Which is a better choice - for a family of 2 adults & 2 childrens. Don't like hotel food. Any hawker food stalls nearby that area? And how far is the nearest supermarket? Travel Tips Rasa Sayang is hands down better than Golden Sands in terms of ambience and service. But I believe it is also more expensive. Book well ahead as it is normally full during peak seasons. Best hotel in Penang, for me. :) Hawker stalls and night market are available just a short walk north of Rasa Sayang. There is also a supermarket there too. No more than 10 mins walk away. Source(s): Frequent visitor to Penang Other Travel Tips I would choose Batu Ferringhi, because the beaches are more natural, and originally why the town is there.... Georgetown is a wonderful place to have breakfast or other meals served from hawkers... Don't worry, just enjoy it all. In this case i ll choose Rasa Sayang. when you walk out the hotel you have everything. most are within walking distance rasa sayang = more expensive (like there ever was a doubt), near to hawker stalls (within walking distance), posh golden sands= more laid back atmosphere, small pool, nice beach, next to an international school, cheaper, smaller rooms. In Penang, you can't GET AWAY from supermarkets. Hawker food stalls can be found anywhere by roadsides Rasa Sayang I'd definitely recommend the Rasa Sayang - it has nicer rooms, better location, better service, better facilities. |
