Why malaysian have a very low civics? |
Travel Info I du no, whether most of them or some of them who repeated those uncivic manners. >look at your river...(yuck) >some spot at town very dirty >no thanks, smile, not entertaining >taxi squeezing tourist >spitting all over few more no need to mention maybe this is Asian culture, compare yourself to European society. since I want to hear something from Malaysian.......... Travel Tips Frog in the well.. .. all i can say. Only bother to hear but don't bother to see and talk so much <sigh> Stop posting such stupid question. Travel and find out more instead of posting such stupid question!! Post this in Vietnam. Post this in Thailand. Post this in Indonesia. Post this in Brunei. Post this in India. Post this in Philippines. Post this in China. See what kind of respond you will get and maybe you get better understanding about this particular country (which sounds like you dislike most and creating invisible 'fight' in here). >River --> Didn't you read in the papers that China has got a big headache over their river till the nation got to rush to buy mineral/distilled water? And have you tried the river at Taiping? Cool river and almost transparent water. What do you say about that? >Dirty town --> What is your standard of dirtiness? Sparkling floors for you to step on? Try open up your house and let thousands and thousands of people walk over in just one day. Tell me the effect. I will be glad to hear.. >Smile --> Everyone has got different character. Are you expecting everyone on the street to smile at you? Maybe you like to emphasize this a little more so that Malaysians can help you with it? > Taxi squeezing --> It happens in many countries, not only in Malaysia. I arrived from Philippines over the weekend into Singapore and went for breakfast on Sunday morning. Guess what? I have to figh taxi with others cos they keep walking 'up stream'.. .. >Spitting all over --> Go China and Philippines and you see for yourself. I had this culture shock. After my trip to China and Philippines, I think Malaysia is still all right. European society? What is there to compare? Apple to orange? Don't compare cos it will make your life miserable. If you have decided to stay in a particular country, learn to accept the fact that this is the life style. You cannot change the people overnight by just writing your displeasure here. Moreover, the world don't revolves around you.. .. It is YOU that have to revolve around the world. Think about it.. ================ AliBaba, Singapore is such a small country and if the government cannot manage such a small population, then some thing is very wrong somewhere. Don't compare!! If you happen to stay in Singapore, then learn to appreciate what you have instead of complaining .. (typical singaporean style). ====================== We might be human but all of us have got different characters. Agree? How come we have some who are ministers, some who just commoners, some who are thief, some who are drunk, etc? It boils down to individual brought up and character. It boils down to what a person want to be in life. There is something I would like to 'top up' my comments. Asia is moving on at a very fast pace. Everyone is talking about technology but they forgot that they have a group of people who are not into technology. So, as the years go on, we find more and more people not able to fit into the 'upgrading' society as their pace is not as fast. Human are human after all. Some are willing to take up the challenge while some would rather just hang there, waiting for miricles. For those who decides to wait for micirles, chances is that they have not learn the concept of buck up and they starts to do something to irritate others. Others Yes, those are the ugly sides of Malaysia. But you know there are ugly sides of every country in this world. You cannot compare the Malaysian society with the European society. Not fair in terms of culture, development, and many other things. I guess most Malaysians are still learning about being civilized and being well mannered in the eyes of the developed world. And we need tougher rules/laws, too. You're not alone in thinking that my dear, lol=P I do agree that's probably an Asian thing i.e. "tidak-apa" attitude/ "kiasu", etc. But ultimately, it's impossible to compare ourselves to those of our Western counterparts they've practically instilled these (civic consciousness, manners) mainly from upbringing. We're however gearing towards a better, more courteous society... albeit at a slower pace, nonetheless it's a good start. I agree with you. I think Singapore had done a great job on this one. They educate their people in the mean time they used punishment and reeducation to the offender. You always found some warning sign at the river ban at Malaysia, still everyone throw the rubbish into the river for their convenience. The main reason is no law to reinforce the law. Secondly, the Malaysia are lack of facilities like lousy transport system had create a environment to the people to act uncivilized. With all due respect, I'd been to different South East Asian cities, Singapore, Cebu, Bali, Bangkok, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, etc etc and you know what, it's only in Kuala Lumpur and everywhere in Malaysia would I see people spitting on the floor, in a restaurant floor. That is kind of eeky. It's not totally Asia, it's uniquely Malaysia. for the rubbish my opinion is the government didn't educate the people properly. First we didn't recycle the rubbish properly. At my area of living you hardly found this recycle bin. In Japan difference day the city hall collect difference rubbish. Every house hall has a complete guild to this matter. At Sarawak i didn't find a lot of people spitting at the floor. I am not sure the other place. thats the ugly side....have u ever see the good side? if you did see, u will choose Malaysia as second home just like your fellow European.... at least we don't have serial killer, serial rapist..etc like u European....which more civic.... my bf already live here for 10 years, n not going back to Europe.... get out of the box dude.... the star...i think, u go find low class hooker around Asian...thats why u see all the ugly side.... ya the bear...maybe i'm emotional....i love my country.... i wonder how many of u will defense your country.....em.... ops...am i rude? the star & the bear....u can take insult right like u insult others...:) sorry dude |
