What is the cost of a taxi from Penang Airport to the Traders Shangri La Hotel, Magazine Rd. in Georgetown? |
Travel Info I've also heard that you can either ask the driver to turn on the meter or negotiate a price before you go, what's the best way to deal with taxi drivers in Penang? Travel Tips Ask the taxi driver what the charge will be before you get in. Many ''cut-throats'' at the airport.......sorry, but it is true. I do not know how much the cost would be but I would say maybe less than RM30 ?? Not sure.....just my 2 cents. Maybe you could inform me of your arrival time and I can go pick you up and drop you off at the Traders........no charge. -------just another friendly soul on earth------- Others Personally, my best recommendation to you is that it is much the better to call your hotel and ask them about the taxi fare from the airport to the hotel itself..and also make an arrangement with the hotel to send a taxi to pick you up airport..with this arrangement it will be much secured though it maybe kinda a little bit expensive.. i just came back from Penang recently and i had my hotel to do everything for me and so minus all the worries about taxi drivers..but also i did find some taxi drivers are kinda nice people..like mine, i had an experience with a taxi driver who is very helpful and exceptionally friendly..he charge me pretty reasonably than the hotel personnels, where i stay itself.. but if you want to get a taxi by yourself, its always the best to negotiate the best fare..and no need to compare to 10 other taxis just to get a few distance away..and when you found a good reasonably charge taxi driver..always get their handphone number just in case you need them later.. And, i just did a research that a cab from the airport to traders hotel in Georgetown would cost you RM30.00 (+-) and also depends on the drivers..if you get a limo service from the hotel to pick you up from the airport..it would cost you RM45.00 per way.. go get airport limo. must go to the counter at the airport and pay first, then get the receipt. bring receipt to limo driver and say 'traders hotel georgetown, already pay' and get into the car if he ask further just say 'me no england, me no malaya' yes, about RM30 |
