How strong opposition party in Malaysia? |
Travel Info politic here...hope you mature enough to answer this. Travel Tips Not strong. they can bark til kingdom come, but we will never see a change of government because politics are dirty. Money can buy votes, if money fail, threats will. Most of the time, we can predict which party will win an election. We can also predict the future of new parties. For example. Parti keadilan. In the beginning, they are saying they fight for anwar and the Malays. Come election, they said that they fight for racial equality, so people of other races started to vote for them. Now what happen? They backed down on their promises. Is this the government i want to vote for? No way.. they change their principle on things so quickly as if nothing was ever said. PAS on the other hand..well.. i guess the fear of having to live under hudud law kept me away from voting for them as well. I also am a true believer that politics and religion should be kept apart. Although to rid the old players seems unreachable, I am waiting for a new party that brings new changes and positive idealism. I am tired of all the parties we currently have in this country. Bring in the new boys and girls to run the government. Forget about the corrupted fat, old and ugly folks who'd been sitting on their buns and done nothing for anyone but themselves.. Others they r strong but not hard...know wat i mean? need the blue pill They may be strong enough to survive but not strong enough to take over the country. Okay, maybe one state or two, but that's all. Reasons why there is little possibility for the opposition parties to win election or even deny National Front (BN)coalition of its 2/3 majority: 1) Media and government mechanisms are biased towards, or controlled by, the ruling coalition. 2) Opposition parties do not have the same structure as BN i.e. racial-based coalition. Malaysians are generally still inclined towards their own race for many reasons, affirmative policy is one of them. While it is necessary for all races to unite to govern this country, most Malaysians still favour for a party that represent their own race instead of multiracial party, thus multiracial coalition instead. The last opposition coalition simply consisted of multiracial and Islamist parties. 3) Regardless of how many Malaysians hate or disagree with the current government, majority still think government under opposition parties will be worse. yea they are strong.. but they just cant take over the country Not strong and i think not ready to run the country, and i don't think they want to run the country especially DAP, it's not easy and they are [except those dream-on PAS] aware of it. They just want to be strong oppositions, it's more easy and hassle free just keep on 'hantam' and 'hantam-ing'. PKR i think is dying as Anwar now is freed Having a strong opposition is good and democratic so that the ruling party won't dare to do whatever they want recklessly. Check and balance If the opposition wants to take over the current administration, they need more focus and time in building up their own strength, gain people's trust and confidence, convince people, and giving themselves facelifts. And this won't be happened in the next two election, unless the current government really screwed-up they can't cover here and there anymore I would say the opposition party is not strong now. most of them had been teeth remove by mahatir another words toothless tiger Now they can say whatever they want but no treat at all. i hope that the opposition be stronger so that our current goverment will do more for the people. Not strong enough to govern the ppl... The opposition need emphasize on being stronger opposition party.. they cannot rule the government if the opposition party is not united.. after all most of the opposition party hate each other due to certain issue.. 1. DAP- fights for the elimination of bumi's rights (which the malay & bumi's will be against it).. so DAP will lose voters. 2. PAS - fights for a islamic country (extreme).. (which the non-muslim is against it as well) so PAS will lose voters. 3. PKR - non relevant objective.. will lose voter from both voters.. they are just strong depends on representative such as anwar & wan norazizah.. The ppl see BN as an all race party which suit to govern the ppl. Until the time comes, untill the opposition unite! they can just dream on governing the country.. Having said that, i think the coming election will see a great change of voters mood. My opinion is BN will loose some of their seats to the opposition but still managed to gain the 2/3 majority. |
