Travel Tips
You don't need any vaccinations to get into Malaysia. If I were to recommend to you anything, I'd recommend you get your hepatitis shots. If you should be brave enough to eat at the hawkers, you will need it.

Malaria?. Unless you are traveling thru the jungles, you should be fine.

Hey, I do alot've traveling myself, especially around Asian countries, there are no specific vaccinations required, but there are a lot've recommendations. here are a few that are recommended for Southeast Asia: Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Japanese encephalitis, Malaria, Rabies, Typhoid. AND boosters for: tetanus-diphtheria, measles and one time dose for Polio.
As I said though, no required vaccinations. Also it depends on which areas you plan on traveling into, whether you want to stay around cities, or go into smaller places with more live stock. Still it is best to ask your Doctor no less than 3 - 4 weeks prior to departure. Also be careful of some drinking water, as waterborne diseasses can make you sick.
Don't let any of this discourage you though, you should be safe on the whole side. But as a precaution it is best to ask your doctor. There is also a website dedicated to this topic, if you get back to me I can help to find it.
Good luck, and have a fantastic journey!!!
Fancy u asked that...u don't really need any vaccination when coming to Malaysia....u will perhaps need an insect repellant if u are dreadful of mosquitos, but its not a bother at all...Malaysian health care and hygiene is of a high quality, so u neednt be afraid...

If u r into seafood like cockles, oysters...then i would suggest u go for your hepatitis inoculation....just to be on the safe side, but again its really not necessary. Travelling in South-east Asian region is pretty safe in tems of health and hygiene. First time? Welcome to Malaysia....don't forget to drop by Melaka and Penang island....nibble on to something local like the Satay, Fried Kuay Teow, Roti Canai, Chicken Rice-ball, Sotong bakar, Ikan panggang, and many more...different varieties to suit your pallate. Enjoy....once again, welcome to Malaysia....
Malaysia is a moden country now, basiclly you dont need any vaccination. however Hipertitis B is advisible but not a must.
Marion..it will be the best to see your doctor and ask his/her opinion regarding this..just to be sure..

Whatever mentioned by others and do remember your mosquito repellent. not to worry too much on infectious disease. Major death among tourist is road traffic accident. My friend was resuscitating two tourist from China 2 months back in emergency department.
