Travel Tips
We went to Malaysia last May and loved it.
We first went to Kota Kinabalu for 10 nights and stayed in the Stuera Harbour resort - paradise.
While there you have to go snorkelling on the islands off the resort. It is magical I promise. I want to go back for that alone.
In KL I would definately reccommend visiting Batu Caves - approx 30 minutes out of the city. It's amazing. It's a natural cave where there are over a hundred steps to get to the top. There is an enormous gold statue at the bottom fo the cave. I'm not familiar with Hinduism and still found it awe inspiring. Inside the cave is a Hindi temple and hundreds of monkeys roaming around pinching food from visitors. Definately worth a visit as it's nothing like anything in Europe.
KL shopping is fantastic as everything is mega cheap. My husband did well as he's small so fit into the clothes but I'm a UK size 12 and didn't have a chance as everything is so small for the Malaysian and Eastern sized women (they're all tiny).
Chinatown has some great little shops with cheap souvenirs - mostly wooden objects and buddahs plus some fantastic fabric.
I'm so envious you're going. Have a great time!

Others
Go to the beautiful mosques and listen the KHUTBAH, and get some free books from there.
Why not stay and relax yr mind at the beach, go for fishing... or snorkeling
Nothing .....
You can travel Malaysia by train and stop off at points of interest. Penang, Langkawi etc. Kuala Lumpur has the Petronas Towers but you get a better view of the city from the Kuala Lumpur tower.
See the wildlife, taste the different foods, try shopping or just soak up the sun on a beach.
such a vague question. Diving, snorkeling, swimming, biking, running, shopping, eating, zoos, museums, temples(not terribly keen on the mosques, but some of the Buddhist temples are beautiful). KL, Penang, Redang, Langkawi, Genting Highland, even places like Ipoh and Butterworth have some places of interest. It all depends what you're up for and how much you're willing spend.
depends on where you come from and what do you like.if you like historical buildings,i suggest you to go to dataran merdeka.for shoppig,go to mid valley.if you want do sme reading ,go to the largest Borders at time square, mph at md valley.for relaxing ad sunbath go to langkawi,if you want a bit of primative go to pangkor island
