What has malaysia achieved in this past 50 years? |
Travel Info achievement of malaysia in this past 50 years.plz answer my question........ Travel Tips yes, Peninsular Malaysia has achieved a couple of things over the past 50 years, such as the highest building in the world (before it was overtaken by, I think, a building in Japan); the longest serving prime minister (now retired); maintain a 5-year rotation monarchy amongst the ruling sultans (yes, a strange thing...); an incredible push forward from a rural-agrarian society to a modern cosmopolitan society (at least in the large cities, inclusive all its illnesses like endless trafic jams, drugs, child abuse...); and it managed to keep sex tourism at bay making it a great holiday destination. But Malaysia also achieved being recognised as an Islamic State (which worries me), cut down the forests in its two states in Borneo (and plunged Sabah from being the richest state when Malaysia was created in 1963 to its current position as the poorest state); managed to constantly keep Amnesty International at bay and still gives a darn about what people outside Malaysia think about its human rights policy; managed to have a highly corrupt government just like in neighbouring countries (albeit minus the political unrest for most of the past 30 years)... there is a price to pay for porgress and being modern and all... I live in Sabah, and we here have paid a big chunk of that price! Oh, well, after all it is still a great place to be, politically stable, weather year round fine, lots of national parks and great holiday destinations, great food around the clock, absolutely fabulous people... come over and have a look for yourself! PS - Malaysia as a political unity as we know it to-day came into being 16 September 1963. What is celebrated now as 50 years is actually the independence of West, or Peninsular Malaysia, gained 31 August 1957... Others peace full i guess. Racial harmony, peace, one of world tallest building (Petronas Twin tower) Best underground in KL. Its very peaceful to stay in malaysia. Economically also achieved so many things. The people are very humble and hardworking. I am not a malaysian but i am proud of it as our neighbour. a peaceful country, many shopping mall, eye on Malaysia(ferris wheel), and many more nice places... You mean 'what we haven't achieved ?'. Tidak adah. Produce banyak orang robber. Alamak. I was robbed at knife point in KL. Jangan lah. Saya orang Kanada dan saya approve this message. it's malaysia Independence, achieved in August 31,1957.but not all states in malaysia state achieve Independence that time, only peninsular malaysia (west malaysia) and during that time malaysia called federation of malaya.later in September 16,1963 Sabah & Sarawak (east malaysia)and Singapore join federation of malaya and that name change to malaysia.however, in August 9,1965 Singapore seceded from Malaysia. hey dave star, you can speak malay? but your malay really funny. lol it's okay,go ahead with malay language |
