What is the best place to drive to in malaysia from singapore if you want a fun get away with young kids? |

A holiday is meant to be enjoyed by all so don't burden your wife or yourself doing the same things at home like looking after the children who at these ages are too young to appreciate the sights and sites. If you want all in your family to enjoy a holiday, don't drive far (more than 1 hour away) as you'll be tired and the children will feel cooped up after some time. If it is nearby for a day trip, maybe you can take a ferry to Batam Island. Not much to do in a day, so quick shopping and sightseeing. That's not a holiday to me! If it is for a couple of days, take a direct coach to Malacca's A'Famosa where you can stay and enjoy the facilities (which includes various entertainment for the whole family, especially your kids) and rent a car for drives to nearby Malacca town (30 minutes) to visit the historic sites. If you have a maid, bringing her to handle the kids while you and your wife can be free to shop and explore. Or if you have friends with similar age children, come in a group and different adults take turns to look after the children while the others go sightseeing. Another option is to go for a cruise. There are regular trips to Penang which is not too far away. Time onboard can be used for relaxation and rent a car or charter a taxi to move around when you are in Penang.
