Becasue Malaysian politicians have brains and inciedently our politicians do not have.
Because Malaysian politician is brainless and no business ac tic. The dont know how many millions will be lost if they ban the advertisment. take an example, let say then ban this ad, the tv stations alone will suffers million dollar worth of contract. at the end the politician who some own the tv station will have less in come for their pockets. that why i say the are brainless!!
in addition to Anderson's answer
Those politicians knew it very well all the consequences and that's their goal so that his political rivals/enemies who own the media and/or fast food company will suffer. so that's why

yes, they are brainless, in long term everybody will suffer.
anderson's answer is correct. those opposing politicians who control the ad media is their enemy, hence they ban them.

for those of u say "politician is brainless", better re-edit ur comments. coz once, a politician knows this, he will ban yahoo.com from msians.

cheers
by advertising fast food it tempts children n parents to bring their children to fast food restaurnat after seein the ads. many over indulge in fast food... leads to some health concerns like high rate of obesity in children, high cholesterol n triglycerides level when they grow older..thus leadin to many other disease. in short, it is unhealthy n ads will tempts kids to eat fast food...n even adults!
jus like how some countries ban ads on cigarrettes... cos smokin is bad for health.
Franchise fast food like ayamas or marry brown most probably is own by these politicians. So to promote local company they ban fast food advertisement I guess?

I think the main reason would obesity the first leading disease in Malaysia. Most disease in hospital are obesity related disease. Eg. Diabetes, cardiovascular disease, endometrial cancer etc. Medications for these diseases aren鈥檛 cheap. A heart patient on proper treatment most probably spends about RM 15/day avg. but then I gotta admit la they are piece of brainless ppl. Banning fast food advertisement is not the solution to create healthy society. Something is fishy behind there kan?

maritza ferrer, are u one of those politicians too? Sorry datin tan sri. daulat tuanku!
