coming from what country? For the US it is visa on entry, just show up with a smile and a return ticket and you're in.

funny dillholes always give thumbs down but offer nothing in return. When the OP first asked there were no additional details so I couldn't answer any further.

I'm finding quite a bit of contradicting information. Many places say visa on arrival for India, excluding chennai(which was frozen 29/11/06), but many other sources say that India needs a Visa.

Here's an interesting one http://www.about-malaysia.com/visa.htm... It specifically lists visa on arrival for all commonwealth countries EXCEPT India and a few others.

also as a note: bad rating means they have nothing better to offer, yet didn't like this, or one of our other questions. I love a thumbs down with a correction below, that way I can learn too. This is answers, not armchair warriors with the evil thumbs down mechanism.
List of embassies in India http://www.hotelsnholidays.com/embas.htm...
As a citizen of India you need a visa for your tourist visit. Since last year you can obtain visa upon arrival,but you can also get a visa before, in Malaysian embassy in New Delhi. It usually takes 3 working days to process your visa, but just in case give them a day or 2 more, you need 2 passport size photos. Since you're only travelling here for 4 or 5 days it doesn't really matter how much validity they approve but maximum stay for Indian citizens entereing on tourist visa is 30 days. You can apply for a 90 days visa at Malaysian embassy in New Delhi. Cost for Malaysian visa is around 27 US dollars, payable in your local currency unless you're opting for visa on arrival.

India being a Commonwealth country doesn't make any difference here since most of the countries anyway have special visa regime for nationals of India.

Visa on arrival:

Your international passport must be valid for at least 6 months longer than your proposed day of entry. They might request to see your return ticket if you're opting for visa on arrival. The cost is RM 100 or ~27$, like normal Malaysian visa costs. As far as I know validity of visa on arrival is 14 days.

You can also apply for visa online.

You can exchange Indian rupees at KLIA, but probably you can also exchange in Chennai, New Delhi and Mumbai airport.

I recommend you to go for visa on arrival. Saves much hassle. Remember: 2 passport-size photos and return ticket.

Check out official website of Malaysian foreign ministry http://www.kln.gov.my.

You can find some details also in this article http://www.indiaenews.com/business/20060...

Like I predicted, you can't just obtain visa on arrival at any entry point, but I assume you'll be arriving at KLIA so you shouldn't have any difficulties with that.

Enjoy your stay!=)
