Is there any kosher restaurant around KL? |
Travel Info I'll be receiving some Jewish guests shortly and I wonder is there any kosher restaurant in KL, or eventually in any other Malaysian town? Please bear in mind that not everything considered halal is kosher and a kosher restaurant would be very much desired. Travel Tips i dont see why israeli cant enter malaysia. I am sure they can. It is us the malaysian who are not able to go to israel, what a pity. Do check out the malaysian immigration website below. Errm.. i lived in the middle east before, have muslim friends from saudi, dubai, oman and bahrain. There are a few seafood restaurants full of arab muslim eating those shellfish. One reason it isnt popular perhaps the unavailability of fresh produce. But the one in dubai is always full of muslim arab patrons. This is the jewish contact in Malaysia, i got it form the internet. Lookie!! he is in selayang: Mr. Gary Braut Precision Bearing 17502 Jalam 4 Taman Selayang Baru Industrial Area Kuala Lumpur 68100 Malaysia Tel: 603-6138-6200 Fax: 603-6138-6206 email: pirkei@pc.jaring.my hope it's helpful. Other Travel Tips Doubt there's one; check with Israeli embassy in Spore? No, it's the warm and welcoming nature that probably frowns on such establishments. I've looked high and low and haven't found any. One of my friends came to visit me on my last trip out here and we searched everywhere and just settled on halal food, the slaughter blessing is different(but the actual slaughter is similar) and you have to steer clear of shellfish, but other than that they are pretty close. Thankfully hes been in the states too long to and isn't quite as kosher as he should be so he survived. For some reason my friend didn't think it was very funny when I dared him to use his "other" passport to come into Malaysia lol. 诪讗讞诇 诇讱 诪讝诇 讟讜讘 edit* Yeah I've always thought that as strange. At my home plant two of our test engineers were born arch enemies, yet they manage to get along quite well, that is until politics comes up then it's quite comical. One is Israeli, the other is from the occupied territories (/me runs for cover lol). I've seen it all over the world where Arabs and Jews get along just fine(except for a few parts of the planet :P ), but I guess I can't argue, it's just Malaysian tolerance I suppose. nah...rules still rules..jewish cant enter malaysia! it even stated in malaysian 's passport There is some confusion from some answerers as to Jews and Isrealis. Jews are followers of Judaism and can be of various nationalities, not just Isreal. I do not know of any restaurant that advertises themselves as "kosher" in KL as there are not many jews living in Malaysia. There is a jewish community in Penang. Nevertheless you should be able to find information on the jewish community in Malaysia from this web site with information on kosher food and how to prepare kosher meals. http://www.kosherdelight.com/malaysia.ht... if i'm not mistaken Jews are not allowed to enter Malaysia |
