Some "rules" are not always applicable in English language. It was Malaya for a long time under British rule but changed the name to Malaysia when they got independence. actually the have: -the malay peninsula (or malaya) -sarawak (a part of the island of borneo) both together are called malaysia Columbs would have Columbia, New Yorkers would have New Yorkia, Georges would have Georgia, British Columbs would have British Columbia, Florids would have Floridia. yeah we do have a parasite in malaysia called brugia malayi. cool eh.... |
