It means- high in protein but low in carbohydrate.

This diet is for anyone who wants to reach their ideal weight. It works well with people with diabetes, hypoglycemia, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and heart disease.

The diet initially eliminates simple carbohydrates (sugars) and complex carbohydrates (starches) except for high-fiber vegetables for the first two weeks.

Try to eliminate refined carbohydrates, such as sugar, white rice, white bread and crackers from your diet. Replace them with fiber-rich protein like fruits, green vegetables, brown rice, soy milk, fish, taufu, nuts, cereal and products made from whole grain bread (do not mistaken with whole wheat).

you should have low carb diet to main tain ur optimal health, if u had more carb execess deposit as fat, thats not really good.
