Wildlife sanctuaries maldives?

im going to Club faru in the north male atoll at the end of this month for 2 weeks and im off to plymouth university in september to study wildlife conservation, I have already worked in africa for 2 months with the environment and the wildlife and would like to do the same in the maldives as it would look good in my CV.

Does anyone know of any sanctuaries or projects that needs any volunteers?

Hi Laura,

There are no wildlife sanctuaries like the ones you would find in Africa in the Maldives - coz there are no such wild life there. But they do have marine life conservation operations/projects going on all the time. I am not sure if Club Faru would have any such programmes but Banyan Tree resort does have a turtle protection/conservation project going on - they also do many other such programmes. Wild life sanctuary, very unlikely in Maldives! Maldives, is mainly attractive on account of the seas around the island country, small and lovely, compact and calm, serene! (been to Male a few times, enjoyed the simplicity about the place! very unlikely to have wild life sanctuaries in any of the small islands around!)
