Is $2000 pm income enough for a single person in maldives?my stay is free..? |
Travel Info i'hv been offered a job in Mladives,They are offering $2000 per month and a furnished accomodation in male.Excellent/Good/Horrifying... would you catagorise this? Travel Tips If it is $2000 USD per month with your own furnished apartment -- it is a great deal. Questions I would ask ... Q1. Do you need to "pay" a deposit up front to get this job? Many in the services industry have their families pay to get a job in Male and it is difficult to return home within 2 years. Q2. Do you have medical insurance -- minor procedures can be done in Male, but most will travel to Sri Lanka or India for anything serious -- just be prepared for this. Q3. How many trips do you wish to take home per year. Most travel in/out of the country is for tourists with few discount on air travel unless it is part of a resort package. Q4. Do you have a credit card and ATM card now to purchase surprise items you may need - food, air ticket, speed boat ride. Q5. Arriving as a tourist with a return ticket and a resort reservation gives you an automatic VISA, however, to work you need to obtain a work permit from the Ministry of Human Resources Employment and Labour prior to arrival in Maldives to engage in employment. I hope these questions will prepare you to know what it is exactly you are accepting. Good luck on your adventure -- it is a wonderful country with wonderful people. Source(s): http://www.visitmaldives.com.mv/getting_... Other Travel Tips Depends on what you make now. If it is more and has possibilites for promotions take it! I would say that is a great deal...what will you be doing in exchange for the room/board...$2k is ok seeing is the Maldives is a hotspot for socialites/stars...very very beautiful...you may not be able to buy much there but the experience of living there like a local is something I would kill for! I think its a great deal. if they are providing accomodation aswell. Maldives living is not that expensive. But the rent is quite high. There is no much nigh life or geting around in Male. So basically there is not much where you will be spending your money. all your options will be work, stay at home, or see around the small male, and eat in a cafe. Cafes are not that expensive. But if you want to travel out of male that is expensive. Because there is no public transportation system. if you want to spend a night in a resort that is also expensive. but normal stuffs are reasonable. i am sure you will have lovely time here. http://www.bookmaldives.com |
