Can I visit the Rovers return in Manchester? |
Travel Info I want to have a drink and a meal is this possible? Travel Tips Granada TV have stopped doing the Granada Studios Tour, where you could walk in the Coronation Street set and visit the Rovers' Return. However, you can see the set, including the Rovers', over the wall from the Museum of Science and Industry next door. This is the best museum in Manchester (maybe in the country) and is now free of charge, except you pay for any special temporary exhibition if you want to see it. The world's largest working collection of steam mill engines, an Apollo space capsule and much, much more. You can eat and drink at a pub very close by, owned by Liz Dawn (Vera Duckworth). I don't remember its name but it's just off Bridge St. Others i dont know Although you cannot visit the Rovers return, you can visit a replica at granada Studios, which I visited some years ago. I Have walked down the alley, behind the terraces, and have also acted out one of the scenes with one of the stars. I am not sure, if it is possible to do this any more, but visit www.itv.com , who produce Corrie. As for a meal, no you can't. Besides this would be impossible as, Betty's hotpot, is only served when Betty is behind the bar, but also because the pub isn't real, and is infact a studio.
