Travel Tips
It depends what you like, who you're with and how long you'll be there, but...here's some suggestions:
-Manchester city centre or Trafford Centre for shopping
-Urbis...it has a museum which isn't that great, but the building is fantastic and the shop is good.
-Old Trafford football ground....even if you're not a fan the tour and museum are good to do....it's such a famous place.
-There's lot's of lovely countryside around Manchester, try Alderley Edge, Peak district, Buxton to start :)
- Chester and its zoo
- The B in the bang sculpture up near the new manchester City Fc ground is a must see.....it's amazing!!!
-Jodrel bank.....it is a giant telescope in the countryside nr Knutsford
Hope these ideas help :)
Others
Depends what your looking for, there's plenty of bars and clubs in Manchester itself, museums, galeries,if you want to get out in to the countryside, try Hollingworth lake near Rochdale, very nice, pubs and walks to go on the list is endless realy, its a nice big area !!!!!
if you're wanting shopping you've come to the right place! trafford centre is massive with loads of shops and you can get something to eat and drink. they also have a large cinema. there is also the lowry centre in salford.
Whitworth Art Gallery,Manchester Museum,Museum Of Science & Industry,Heaton Park (2nd biggest municipal park in Europe),Old Trafford,A concert at M.E.N Arena....the list is endless.
Manchester is a mini London but much better. There is loads to do,just ask a local. You wont be bored.
There is a lot...all the above plus Quarry bank mill is a good place to go to (history of a cotton factory, the wealth of Lancashire/Manchester), Chester isn't very far a makes a brilliant day out, you can walk by the many canals, Glossop is nice...Manchester has many shops, best in king street (need lots of money!!!) and places to visit (free science museum -very good for kids, the cathedral and the nearby music school, with a fantastic library - look like in Harry Potter's movies) and so on...
