Travel Tips
I'm from Manchester, but from the south side, so not so cure about north Manchester - other than you'll get more fro your money up there. I've got friends living in Middleton who like it there and I've heard Prestwich/Bury is nice.
Recently moved back to the area and I'm living in Stockport, which is nice, but has a significantly lower ethnic minority population than Manchester.
The only other place I considered moving to was around Old Trafford/Urmston as it seems quite nice there. I guess Chorlton & Didsbury are considered quite sophisticated suburbs, but they are pricey (as is Manchester City Centre).
Others
Whoever told you that is full of b*ll. I am from Manchester and in this city there are all nationalities and that is not a problem. That is infact what makes M'cr such a great city. You can live anywhere. (might wanna miss Moss Side) Chorlton & Didsbury is really nice.
I'd like to apologise for all the idiots who've posted racist replies to your question, I don't know Manchester but do know that integration is the way forward and I hope you find somewhere nice to live!:-)
How can someone(unless they are a racist) give my reply a thumbs down?
That is totally rubbish! There is so many different nationalities living in manchester!
Cheetham Hill and Oldham is populated with Asians (which you don't like). A lot of places are ok but I agree with the above answer to give moss side a miss (gun crimes are high there). Anywhere else is fine depending on how far you want to live from manchester city centre. Best to look on a map and then decide how far you want to live from there since everyone wants to live as close as possible to the heart of the city. Once you have decided a place, go there and check the areas out yourself.
First impressions are really important.
I live in Prestwich, and although it is a predominantly white suburb you wouldn't have any problems living here, there are a number of Asian families here who like it.
The area is safe, low crime compared to most places, friendly and has lots of shops/restaurants/etc..the public transport here is very good.
There are a lots of good properties on the market-mainly larger houses, which is why we have a large Jewish community here.Hope this helps!
I used to live in Manchester
sorry you have had to endure some horrible racism off those people who were born with no sense.
have you had a look around old trafford?
the Seymore Grove/ Ayres Road areas, they are predominantly Asian
hope you find somewhere nice

added: why on earth have I got a thumbs down???
