Other Travel Tips Manchester University,it does far better Grade wise/graduate wise. BUT-it is also a big party Uni so be warned-you have to put the work in! Manchester University is the older, more established university. So you'll find that (as for other traditional universities in big cities) the entry grades for most courses will be higher. Manchester Metropolitan University was previously Manchester Polytechnic (it became a university in 1991). Which is the 'best' will depend on which course you are thinking about. MMU will offer some courses that the University does not. How do you judge what is the 'best' course. Teaching standards? Graduate (employment) destinations? Links to industry? Research? You need to think about this before making enquiries at both places. The fact that one universitiy's entry grades are higher than another's, or that the grade of degree that graduates come out with is higher (the two will obviously be linked) does not mean that the quality of teaching is necessarily better. Well I am only in high school, but visited Manchester Uni on a trip for some science thing. It is a physically disgusting building, it smells like a hospital, and looks like one. It's not really inviting, it's pretty grotty and messy, so if you want to actually enjoy your time at university, don't go there. However, I haven't been to Manchester Met Uni, so I couldn't say what that ones like. But in terms of actually being happy, Manchester Uni is not reccomended, and if you put the work in, Manchester Met could get you the same grades as Manchester Uni anyway. Uni. Excellent place. |
