Travel Tips
I was born in Hope Hospital and grew up in Salford (mid-fifties onward). My Dad still lives there and I visit him once a week.
Despite this, I had to google Albert Park! Turns out it's in Broughton, in the old 'Salford 7' area. I lived in the Salford 6 area and my nearest parks were Swinton Park, Seedley Park and the big one, Buile Hill.
Salford's changed a lot over the years. If I tried to find my round it these days, I'd probably get lost.

Choccy_002, hello from a fellow Old Salfordian!

I'm from Salford originally and pass through occasionally.
St Boniface's School, on Yew St., is still there as is Albert Park on Great Clowes Street. Lower Broughton is undergoing a lot of redevelopment right now - lots of new housing going up.
Take a look at;-

John G - I was born in Hope Hospital, too in the early 50's and lived in Seedley close to Langworthy Rd. Went to Langworthy Rd School then Salford Grammar. Spent a lot of time in Seedley & Buille Hill Parks as a kid!
I knew about Albert Park as I had an aunt and uncle who lived close to there.

Mia - yes Mandley Park is still there on Leicester Road, with a brand new kiddies playground area, too!
Salford has really changed.
I lived in Stretford, but we used to go to salford market.
I am no longer living in Manchester, but do go back to visit relatives often.
Salford is no longer like it used to be, you wouldn't recognise the place now, I always get lost!
the park is still there & Salford 7 has now cleaned up alot from what it used to be.
The market is still there too!
I used to love going on a cold saturday morning & getting hot little potates, salt & butter off the potato man
I lived there too, until I went abroad about '73', wasn't there a Mandley Park too in Salford 7? Fancy meeting you lot here!
Hi, yes St Boniface school is still going strong though with all the redevelopment you wouldn't recognise the area now.
I lived on Langworthy Road and the Height in the late 70's early 80's but still visit a friend on Littleton Road Kersal quite often.
Sorry I can't help you more but the other guys have I'm sure.
the school is still there and so is the park
