What are the particulars of Bolton and Ashton-Under-Lyne, Lancashire, England? |
Travel Info My husband's family is from those towns and as I am putting together a genealogy book for his sister for her birthday, I'd like more information about the towns and possibly some photos. Travel Tips I can answer about Bolton - I was born in Bolton and brought up in a place called Little Lever, which is part of Bolton Metropolitan Borough. I believe Bolton is the biggest town in England - if you believe the rumours lol. Go to www.ben.co.uk (Bolton Evening News) its the local evening newspaper 6 nights a week - you will be able to get a good idea of the area - and of the people who live in Bolton It probably have an archive. For Ashton-under-lyne - i would try www.men.co.uk or www.manchestereveningnews.co.u... Ashton is under either Tameside or Manchester sorry not to sure Hope this helps a little.
