Which are the best stores in Manchester-for second hand vinyl? |
Travel Info I am going to Manchester next saturday. I am looking for some stores in the City center that sell second hand vinyl (60s, 70s, 80s etc) .I have never been on my own to the City before, so therefore I am limiting my hunt to the City Center only. If any of you kind people could assist me in finding out which stores are the best-and least expensive for second hand vinyl, I would be most grateful! Travel Tips There used to be one near Chetham's School of Music at the front of Victoria Station - bought some fairly rare albums from there about 15 years ago...it's changed a hell of a lot now, but I think it might still be there. Forgotten the street - but it's off Corporation St., on the way to Victoria. Know the one Mr. Modest mentions - in a student/hippy-type bunch of shops a third of the way down Oldham Street. Jean - the Underground Market has been closed for a few years now. I remember the Indian stores with their electronic goodies like short-wave radios etc. Others theres 1 on Oldham street i think... try that or either lever street,Dale street,Newton street there used to be somewhere called the underground market, in there, there was a fantastic stall, unsure if it's still there though as not been for years, it was off market street. or you could try Affleck's Palace in the northern quarter, you can get vinyls there If you are prepared to venture slightly out of the city centre get any of the buses that go down Kingsway into Didsbury.Get off the bus at Fog Lane and you can visit the famous Sifters shop as namechecked by Oasis! BeatnRhythm - Tib st. very central just off Piccadilly Gardens |
