Are people in Manchester friendly and open minded ?

Travel Info
After deciding that I would move to Manchester. I would like to know if the people in Manchester are friendly and open minded !?

Also I am a transsexual myself. Is there a transsxual community there? Is that hard to find work? Do they have the Anti Discrimintaion law like in Sydney, Australia.

Any comments and advices is highly appreciated

Many thanks

people in Manchester are just like anywhere else.
I was born there & lived there for 20 odd years before starting to move around various places in the UK,
there is an anti discrimination law, in the way that transexuals, women, gays, ethnic minorities cannot be discriminated against in the workplace.
people are open minded, although you do get bigots in every community

Yes they are very friendly, you are soo lucky that you have this oppurtinity to move there, im very jealous. im sure that have a transsexual community, think of it as NYC, its extremely diverse, and people are not stuck up like they are here in America!

-soo jealous!!
Manchester folk are friendly
I am sorry do not know if there is a trans-sexual community here - more than likely there is - we have a really good gay area in Manchester and its a really good night out regardless of whether you are gay or not.
Live in Manchester area
I know gay has nothing to do with trans-sexual - just letting you know we are a diverse community
Hi! I'm sure Manchester is as open minded as you can get here in the UK. I really don't think you'll have a problem finding work there, as we have so many cultures and lifestyles. The majority of us really are a friendly bunch!

Check out this site I found - The UK Angels:

And this great site with details of events etc.

Best wishes :-)
I just spent a week in Manchester and found the people I encountered (including one transexual man incidently) to be very open minded. It is a modern, young, vibrant city embracing the future and leaving behind its economically dead past. I think this atmosphere is conducive to embracing diverse groups of people.
