Good Places to stay in Manchester?

Travel Info
Im planning a night out in Manchester for a friends Birthday. We want to stay overnight at somewhere fairly central at a fairly reasonable rate. Anyone know of anywhere and also any good pubs and clubs to go to. Thanks

Travel Tips
travels inns are pretty cheap and central as previously mentioned. There is also a hostel called Hatters, which if you are coming witha group of friends and aren't too bothered about luxury accomodation, then it's prett y cheap and definately central.

There's also a B&B above a pub called Monroes near Piccadilly station which is great.

With regards to going out....well it depends what you're into.
Deansgate is the general haunt for Mancunions on a Friday or Saturday night out. There are quite a few bars down that strip. Try the Hilton hotel bar if you're dressing up.

I prefer the Northern Quarter myself.
Matt & Phreds jazz bar, Night and Day, common, Cord Bar (many of these places you will be rubbing elbows with musicians,....some of whom you may already know!)
Afflecks is always worth a look in for a shop and the Northern Quarter has many independant shops and quirky little places. Earth cafe is under the buddist centre and they do healthy currys if you're into that kinda things.

For a rockier night out try Satan's Hollow or Jilly's Rock World. ( The latter has 4 different rooms with different music in each!)

If you can give me a little bit more detail about what kinda weekend you're looking for and what your budget is I'm sure I can help you out with a more detailed account.
Others
stay at the premiertravell inn in manchester town centre, there are loads of great bars, try deansgate locks, it has a revolution loaf good trendy bars, or peter st is good too, try bar 38, brannigans, varsity etc, you cant fail to have a bad night out or try billy rocks
The Hilton Hotel.
I think there's a Travelodge in the city centre, try there.

If it's just a gang of drunken horny girls ya can stay at my place. it's only 3 minutes from the printworks.
Failing that there is a travel inn right in the town centre.
The Britannia Hotel - it is abt 5 mins walk from train station and 2 minutes from bus station. It is also right next to Piccadilly Gardens and all the great shops. Enjoy!!!! I is my home town. While you are there visit the Lowry Centre - it is amazing even if you are not really into his work. In terms of going out - depends what you are in to - but there is a lot of choice - many people like Deansgate for a night out though.

Have fun!!
Try Liverpool instead.
