Where can I get the best fish & chips in Manchester, Liverpool, and St. Helens? |
Travel Info Manchester: I prefer a place in City Centre but I take recommendation anywhere in Greater Manchester. Liverpool: Again I prefer a place in City Centre but I take any recommendation in Merseyside. St. Helens: St. Helens City Centre please. I need one fish & chip vendor from each city. It could be a 2quid fish & chip from an Indian Kabeb shop, or 25quid fish & chip from posh restaurant. Cheers. Travel Tips In Greater Manchester I like the chinese chippy on Davyhulme road, Stretford they do a lovely fish and chips sorry don't know about the other areas, not been there for years Others There's a Harry Ramsden's in Manchester, on Regent Road (A57), just beyond the western end of the Mancunian Way (A57[M]) on the bank of the River Irwell where it becomes the Ship Canal at the boundary of Salford. They fry fish and chips the old Yorkshire way, in beef dripping. In Liverpool I like the Blue Star chippies, such as at the corner of Queens Drive and the East Lancs Road in Walton. St Helens - dunno. Go to Wigan for their pies instead! As Brian says, there's a Harry Ramsden's on Regent Rd., in Salford - also a Harry Ramsden's at The Lowry Retail Outlet at Salford Quays. Can't help with L/pool or St Helen's, though. the Langley friary, wood st,Middleton ,greater Manchester.they have won many awards and it is very popular.i absolutely love their fish and chips nobody i know cooks them better. |
