Seychelles island hopping is absolutely wonderful but Mauritius is probably more interesting, if you want to do more sightseeing. It is all contained on one island and therefore more convenient instead of flying to little islands round the Seychelles.

Be careful of the time of year though as each destination has different seasons. Seychelles just above the equator is lovely in June, but Mauritius, just south of the equator, is best in September. Don't get caught in the rainy seasons! Source(s): I have holidayed in both places.

I suppose it depends what you are looking for and who is going on holiday with you. We went last December to Mauritius with our 2 young children and found it to be idyllic.
Both are stunning!
Both are really nice and relaxing for a vacation and even for work! As two tropical islands they are both quite of the same kind, so u won't miss anything of the other if u went to just one of them.
Seychelles is more beautiful than Mauritius. Mauritius may be more developed , but it is overprized and overrated. Sesel is pristine, the people friendlier and more open-minded. Mauritians are only interested in tourists for their money and the benefits of tourism. Otherwise, they are not genuinely interested in foreigners. They befriend others for what they can get from them. That's the plain truth.
