Travelling to mauritius on 24-06-07 at 8.00pm . Want to know where to convert traveller cheques at that time? |
Travel Info Where can they be encashed. Are US dollars accepted by the taxis for the travel Travel Tips Hi kd, Terrific that you are making a trip to Mauritius. If at all possible, try to pay your taxi fare in Mauritian rupees. You will pay less for the fare. I hope that you will not find traveller's cheques to be somewhat of a hassle there. If you have an ATM card it would be so much easier for you to get cash with that directly from your account. The first time I lived in Mauritius we did currency exchange at the banks. It was time-consuming and not ALL banks there are accustomed to working with foreign currency and traveller's cheques. Sometimes there is a specific teller to do this. The second time, when we went back to live there, we used our ATM card all the time and never had a problem. Anyway, you probably have already purchased your traveller's cheques so just try to be patient if you find they are not accepted everywhere. The Mauritians are wonderful people and will be very kind to you, so be kind to them. Hope you have an awesome trip! Others There are bank counters at the airport and they should be open. A few taxi drivers may accept dollars. hi. Iv been there 3 times, and you will be able to change any money (US dollars, pounds, or travellers cheques) at the airport and will be open no matter what time you arrive, thats what i love about mauritius!!!. The same rate will apply every where around the country. Foreign exchange buriaus are every where in the country too. Enjoy yourself!! i don't know if all of them will accept dollars but those at the airport will most likely accept it...they can be encashed in any bank in Mauritius |
