Travel Tips nope...you can take all your money(through a bank) out of mauritius or you can take as much as the limited/maximun load that AIR MAURITIUS allows you or you can get it out of muritius through a cargo ship if you have that much money! Others Most small countries do have a limit that you can carry out. If you have alot of currency to move you can use the international banking system ( through your own bank) I don't know the limit for Mauritius but these rules are to try to stop holiday makers (in this case) causing inflation by taking money out of country (so it can't be spent) but leaving it effectively in circulation. The resulting physical shortage causes more money to be 'printed' creating an inflationary reaction etc etc. Sorry that isn't what you really want to know, but the bank is closed and I can't find out anything further at present. nO most countires have a limit, but they're quite leniant not really as long as its a reasonable amount. |
