Where is good to visit in Mauritius? |
Travel Info Going on honeymoon next year and I was wondering any touristy or less touristy hotspots to go to in Mauritius!! Also where is good to eat on a budget (Staying at Le Touserrok...any info on that would be good too) can't afford to eat there every evening! Thanks Travel Tips Touserrok is the most expensive hotel in Mauritius. So you should expect taxi drivers (if they know you are from touserrok) to charge you a lot. For nice places to eat, go to grand baie or Port-louis (caudan) (pailles en queue) ( carri poule) you will a large variety of choices. Else try the nearby hotels just for dinner. There are lot of things you can do, diving , swimming with the dolphins, para-sailing, walk under the sea, go and climb some mountains (not many tourists do that) if you are staying in Touserrok go to island next to ile aux cerf. The hotel will provide you boat transfer to ile aux cerfs then walk there. There are not as many people. If you go to port-Louis market don't forget to bargain. Any problems just ask the locals Have a nice time Others I know mauritius is a beautiful place. but did not know it is very expensive I guess you can check the google for travel information I wouldn't bother going there. I was there in late October and found it boring. There is very little to do unless you just want to sit on a beach. The island is full of sugar cane, a couple of sugar museums to see, golf courses are nice, the usual water sports and Oh yes the star attraction "co loured Earth" which was a few mounds of volcanic earth several shades of red. Dear me what a waste of time that was. A couple of water falls, that's about it. Most of the shops sell tacky crap. Its quite quite cheap to eat out if you can find a good restaurant. My advice would be go to Antigua in the Caribbean far nicer and more to see. |
