I've been trying to find out how to book Hotel Belmar, but it must be too inexpensive to be on a "book-it" type site. Also, we'll bus to El Fuerte (any hotel suggestions there?) and take El Chepe train. Any suggestions or comments would be very welcome. (i.e., is 2nd class train okay? Is it worth a splurge at the Mirador hotel? etc.) Thanks for your help!!

When you get to Mazatlan, there will probably be taxi drivers at the airport or train station trying to get your business. I was on a cruise and hired one for the day with 3 other people. It was between $20 and $40 for the car and he showed us the sights. He knew good local restaurants where you wouldn't get sick from the veggies or the water and he also showed us some things off the beaten path. |
